July Events

Last Sunday we went to the Bath Pageant of Motoring which is a smallish two day show run by the local Rotary Club in aid of a charity providing wheelchairs for children under five who have a disability.

There were a few unusual cars  and motorbikes but not many stalls. In the marquee was, reputedly, the De Laurean which was used in the film Back to the Future as in the last two pictures.

Here are some photos.

June finds and new garden office

June's finds are rather thin on the ground largely because I have been busy on Ebay listing a rather large collection of old children's books that I have been storing in the garage for some years. They haven't deteriorated since I have had them as I stored them well from the start, but I want to clear the space that they have been taking up and concentrate on the mid century and modern design items that are featured in the Etsy shop. The collection is very varied with many charming items from the early twentieth century and they are selling fast, so if you are interested go to rolie_collectables. I add new listings every Friday morning and they run for a week from as little as 99p.
I will be having a break from the 18th July to the 4th August but will be back with new items after that as I have quite a number of boxes still to add.

Meanwhile, here are some pieces for June's vintage finds blog
Some stylish teak pieces - nearly all of these have been listed on Etsy and some have sold

The candle holders have sold but the reclining musician candle holder is still available on Etsy

Two Hornsea Muramic dishes and a Carn Pottery vase

Both from a flea market in the next county -Norwegian bowl and Swedish condiment set

More candle holders, a very heavy but stylish glass jug, Black Velvet cup & saucer and smoky vase

Last month Roy completed the construction of my garden office which was made from a garden shed dismantled from a site about 20 miles away, transported by trailer and re-erected in our garden

Our cottage

It makes a very pleasant environment for working, especially at this time of the year when the days are at their longest and the swallows are flying around overhead.
