This can be a fun area in which to collect for a small display in a vintage inspired home. Many of us can remember the brands of the era: Babycham (most well known); Snowball; Cherry B; Britvic to mention just a few. For images look no further than the magazines of the time for a plentiful supply. The Sunday supplements are often a good source. To enhance your collection, you can find in most car boots and charity shops beer mats, glasses and signs, enamel trays. You may get lucky at auction online or otherwise in a job lot or house clearance. A more certain place is to shop is at one of the many vintage fairs (such as Bath Vintage & Antiques) or retro shop. Here are a few examples of our findings:
The Pony items are harder to find, especially the little model of the white pony - we bought it with a collection of Babycham glasses and didn't know what it was at first until we realised that it related to the drink. I saw an enamel Pony drinks tray on Ebay for £25 which I thought reasonable for a scarce item.
The last three items came from a vintage shop in Witney.
Roy made the cabinet in which the collection is housed from found pieces of wood - it is in our sitting room.
